I approached the owner of Abby Cat Daddy, a Fraser Valley based cat rescue to see if they needed any help with their website as cat rescue is near and dear to my heart. I noticed there were a few issues with the original site, and I wanted to get a bit more confident with WordPress.
The owner was elated to have extra assistance. They needed some graphics for social media, gave me free reign to redesign their their site, and asked for the periodic cat illustration. I still help out with them here and there, with making graphics for social media, updating photos on their website, and animating little fundraising thermometers.
I started by talking with the owner and figuring out what the needs were for the volunteer run cat rescue. They needed a vector version of their logo and minor adjustments to it, a succinct slogan, easy to understand graphics, a cleaner looking blog and an easy to navigate website - all of this was needed on the completely free version of Wordpress. I took notes on what the owner was hoping for, and started out with some really rough sketches. Then I copied down all of the information from the old site, and got to work.
